Love the hotel bar here. Drinks are amazing. Customer service is great. Jairo is incredible!!! Very friendly and makes the best drinks. I’ve come back 3 times just for Jairo and his drinks. Amaro is great too. Good vibes.

This place was absolutely impeccable! Every single person from the staff treated us with the best service. Located right on the beach made going for a beach day a breeze with complimentary beach towels and lounge chairs. The restaurant is highly recommended as well. Make sure to have a meal there at least 1 night during your stay! Also if you're up for a surfing lesson, Fun Surf LA is located in the parking lot right next door ;)

I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years, but the service from your staff was truly outstanding. I was so impressed that I looked into whether there were other properties in the same group, but from what I could find, it seems this hotel exists only in Santa Monica. That uniqueness makes it even more special, and now I have another reason to come back to Santa Monica. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and thanks to the beautiful view from our room and the warm, genuine congratulations from your smiling staff, it became a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us. We will definitely be back. The restaurant is also fantastic, and I highly recommend it!

The best, I haven't stayed here but the happy hour is amazing. The lobby to watch the sunset is truly spectacular. Bring a date come by yourself grab some food at the bar and hang out. Enjoy your stay.

An Excellent Experience in Every Way My stay at Hotel Casa del Mar was simply outstanding. From the moment I arrived, the front desk team was exceptionally kind and professional, making the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The housekeeping service is impeccable — they come by several times a day to make sure everything stays spotless. The hotel’s restaurant serves excellent food and has great live music in the evenings, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere. The pool isn’t very large, but it’s very pleasant and offers great food and drink service as well. The location is unbeatable — right on the beach, with beautiful ocean views and easy access to the Santa Monica Pier and surrounding areas. I didn’t use the spa, so I can’t comment on that, but everything else — the service, cleanliness, restaurant, and location — was truly first-class. The only thing I would improve is the beach service. There aren’t many amenities available on the sand, and the umbrellas and chairs are set quite far from the water or close early in the day. It seems that the third-party operator managing the beach area is not providing the same level of quality and attention to detail that matches the hotel’s high standards. It would be great to see a more complete and better-aligned beach setup in the future. Overall, this is an amazing hotel that I would definitely stay at again. Highly recommended!

This is one of our favorite hotels in Los Angeles. We always look forward to our visits. We live in the Palos Verdes but love the staycation experience of spending a couple of night at this special place.

Nice hotel with this Old Hollywood vibe. Location is perfect, on the beach by the Pier. Great staff, nice room (loved the bathrooms). Two little things: - food at the restaurant in the lobby was not that memorable. So many better options around! - we booked four rooms and asked for them to be on the same floor. They obliged but put us on the ground (half ground?) floor, and with the slight slope between the road and the beach, one of the rooms did not have real windows. I guess it's either privacy or daylight. My brother didn't care much but I would have been really disappointed if I had booked a week in a 5-star hotel and not getting daylight.

Valet parking only, I don’t know where they take your car but it was 24 hour service at I believe $75 a night? This hotel is old and has a lot of charm to it. Lots of random stairs from lobby to valet floor to fitness center. Pros: Every worker we passed by was super friendly and always greeted us. The rooms were nice, shower pressure was amazing. We were on the fifth floor with ocean view but the palm trees covered the view. Bed was comfortable, there was a deck from our room to the pool, live music at the lobby lounge at night time, free 2 hours bike rental at their sister property shutters, right on the beach, and turn down service. Cons: the bed was VERY high. I’m 5’2 and had to step on the side to get up, it was the height of my waist. There was also little room in between the bed frame and chair so I’d always bang my knee into the corner of the wooden frame (of course it’s bruised now). I’d recommend covering the corners with cushions or something to help prevent future injuries. We went to the pool later in the day and it was empty but there were lots of trash/plastic cups everywhere. No clean towels but almost all chairs had dirty towels on them. They didn’t really tell us about the amenities either. If the cons were fixed this would be an ideal place to stay at and rating would change to a 5 star.

We just spent another vacation at Casa del Mara and, again, it was superb in every way for a few days of a get-away on the ocean. The room is spacious and, with and open space between the bathroom and bedroom for the bathtub, very romantic. Room service (breakfast every day; dinner 3 out of 4 nights) was better than expected and the service was excellent. Since the hotel is on the far north-west of LA on the beach at Santa Monica, you have to consider driving time if you want to do anything but walk on the beach or in town. Fortunately, we were content to stay nearby for our walks!
